For all those big kids among us who enjoy toy tanks, here is your opportunity to sleep next to a real one! Join us at The Tank Museum in the Cold War Hall in Bovington, Dorset, for our Big Sleep at this fascinating venue and learn more about tanks from around the world.
We will give up our warm beds to sleep rough on the floor of the Cold War Hall, surrounded by legendary tanks, to raise funds to support homeless veterans. The event promises to be a powerful, reflective, and yet humbling experience as you bed down for the night, as others who are homeless do every night. For you, it will be just one night; in the morning, you can return to your warm home and comfortable bed.
On the night, you will hear a talk from a tank expert and stories about service users we have helped. At dawn, we invite you to join us at the War Memorial in front of The Tank Museum for a moment’s reflection. A simple breakfast and hot drinks will be available before you leave.
Fundraise Sign-up registration costs £5 for a young person and £10 for an adult and is available for those aged 11 years and over. Anyone under 18 needs to be accompanied by an adult. Adults pledge to raise £100, and children pledge to raise £50. Your fundraising enables us to support homeless ex-service personnel off the street by providing supported accommodation, training, employment skills, and opportunities to live independent, fulfilling lives. Adults who raise £150, and children who raise £100 before gift aid, will receive an eco-friendly Hugo Frosch hot water bottle.
