The Beaches of Dorset – Avon
This sand and shingle beach is an ideal spot for a family trip to the seaside, offering a safe, gentle slope into the sea. Sandbars often appear depending on the tide movements. The beach has Marine Conservation Society Recommended water quality and is European designated bathing water.
It is lifeguarded between from 9th July to 4th September 2022 between 10am and 6pm. Facilities include: Canoe hire, shops and a café, with good parking.
Activities here include swimming, Jet skiing and crab fishing locally at Mudeford Quay.
Parking: Nearest car park is Avon Beach Car Park adjacent to the beach (99 spaces). Additional parking at Avon Run Road car park (222 spaces), 5-minute walk to the beach via steps.
Toilets: Toilets next to the Noisy Lobster Café, including baby changing.
