Boscombe Market is Bournemouth’s only regular fresh food market, operating from 9am-5pm every Thursday and Saturday throughout the year. Boscombe Market is a breath of fresh air in an age of packaged supermarket aisles, with fresh fruit and vegetables, from the exotic to the everyday, responsibly sourced meat, fresh fish landed daily from Brixham, all served by larger than life characters who will happily give you tips on preparation and recipe ideas.
Freshly prepared and served ‘Street Food’ is becoming increasingly popular, and you’ll find hot and tasty dishes from India, Thailand, Brazil and traditional British dishes from burgers and pies to fish and chips. There’s also wonderfully decadent pastries, waffles and cakes.
Apart from food you’ll also find clothing, jewellery, plants, flowers and so much more… it’s all at Boscombe Open Air Market on the pedestrian precinct, in front of the Sovereign Shopping Centre.
Make a day of it… with two undercover shopping centres, including the beautiful Victorian Royal Arcade, high street stores, great choice of cafés and restaurants, beautiful beaches and gardens. All on level access, served by many local bus services and with ample parking for cars, and just three miles from the centre of Bournemouth.
Getting to Boscombe Market
There is an abundance of good value car parking available in the council run Hawkwood Road car park (460 spaces) and in the multi-storey Sovereign Shopping Centre car park (620 spaces).
Boscombe Precinct is ‘on the flat’ so is ideal for people with buggies or with mobility issues.
