The Dorset Coppice Group Wood Fair
Come and join us at our Annual Wood Fair in Bonsley Wood, at the Living Classroom From 10:00 to 16:00 – Free Parking
Spoon Carving, Basket Weaving, Wood Craft Competition, Spar Making Competitions Sponsored by National Society of Master Thatchers, Hurdle making competition, Horse Logging & Light Refreshments
The Living Classroom is run by Dorset Coppice Group. It comprises an area of approximately 30 acres of mixed, broadleaved woodland known as Bonsley Wood, together with an accessible classroom, (disabled) toilets, water and power. There will also be disabled parking spaces to aid access, but the woods are uneven. Bonsley Wood is part of Blandford Forest, a commercially managed Forestry Commission operation. It is with their agreement that Dorset Coppice Group have use of the woodland for educational purposes, and to manage part of it as a traditional, rotational coppice woodland.
The Living Classroom is a base from which we can work with schools and local communities to develop environmental projects and is an ideal educational training facility.
