The most illustrious event on the South Coast (UK) social calendar, the SandPolo is THE event of the summer and takes place on the glamorous shores of Sandbanks, UK.

Following the disappointment of not being able to hold the event in 2020, we are looking forward to celebrating the best SandPolo yet in 2021!

THE POLO
‘The matches are fast and furious, and the extra-large orange ball, designed not to get lost in the sand, flies around at speeds of up to 100mph.’ The Guardian

The SandPolo at Sandbanks (the British Beach Polo Championships) is the largest beach polo event in the world and receives international press coverage. Polo played in an enclosed arena has been referred to as ‘Ice Hockey on Horse Back’.

Spectators are up close to the action and can fully appreciate the horsemanship, speed and gladiatorial nature of polo. The polo ponies love the sand, they can accelerate and stop fast and can turn extremely sharply.

The thrill and excitement of horses galloping on the sand with the English Channel as a backdrop, whilst sipping champagne is a vision to remember – an intoxicating mix. You’ll find yourself rubbing shoulders with glamorous and even celebrity company, we have previously enjoyed visits from Harry Redknapp (the King of the Jungle), Nick Knowles, Rita Simons and Strictly favourite Ian Waite. Polo players engage with the sponsors and spectating guests both on and off the pitch.

THE PARTIES
Following the thrill of the day’s action, the energy continues into the evening and we proceed to the after parties. On the Friday join us for the inaugural ‘Boogie on the Beach’, a spectacular evening of entertainment on the world-famous shores of Sandbanks. Party under the stars to the sounds of internationally acclaimed Soul, Motown and Disco artists. The Saturday night closing ‘GOLD Ocean Party’ will feature Spandau Ballet star Martin Kemp, with an 80s DJ set, alongside special guests!

THE LOCATION

Sandbanks is probably the most exclusive beach community in the UK. The infamous peninsular extends out across Poole Harbour on the scenic Dorset coast. It boasts upmarket luxurious homes and pristine ‘Blue Flag’ beaches.

Poole is easily accessible with a fast rail connection (100 minutes direct from London Waterloo), good road access (30 minutes from Southampton) and 2 International airports within 45 minutes.
