Early morning on Brownsea Island is the perfect time to gather your thoughts and find inner calm. Enjoy the peace and tranquillity of this beautiful location whilst local yoga teacher , Sonja Lockyer, guides you through a one-hour yoga session followed by a delicious picnic breakfast prepared by local plant-based chef Wylde Green Kitchen. Afterwards, feel free to stay for a while and savour the moment.

This year we’re giving people the option to spend the night under canvas before the event with 10% off a stay at the island’s historic campsite. If you choose to book with the campsite and take advantage of this offer, you would arrive anytime on the Tuesday from Poole Quay (rather than Sandbanks) on the yellow ferry and make your way up to the campsite to set up camp for the night. You’ll need to make your way down to the quay to meet your instructor and other participants arriving on the boat from Sandbanks at 08:10 in the morning before heading off for your yoga session followed by breakfast. You may spend the rest of the day on the island leaving on any yellow ferry returning to Poole up until 5pm.

Should you wish to book a campsite stay ahead of this event email: brownseaislandcampsite@nationaltrust.org.uk with proof of your booking for the early morning yoga, to receive 10% off your stay. For anyone camping, there is an opportunity to enjoy exclusive access to dine at Brownsea castle. This option is not included in the price and would be payable on the night to the castle. A sample menu will be sent out with your camping details.

For day visitors, the boat departs from Sandbanks (NOT Poole)at 08:00 from the National Trust jetty to the righthand side of the Sandbanks chain ferry. Please allow enough time to park your car and get to the jetty (approx. 10 mins). There is metered roadside parking available on the peninsula. Please note that the car park to the left of the chain ferry is for one hour ONLY. Return boats for day visitors to Sandbanks on Wednesday will leave at 11:20 or 12:20.

For campers, please catch your boat from POOLE QUAY the day before. The last boat to the island leaves at 16:30. If you have chosen basic camping, please make sure you bring overnight camping gear, a tent and some food for the evening (unless dining in the castle) as there are no shops on the island. Campers may catch any boat back to Poole Quay up until 5pm.
