Annual Village Carnival held in the parish of Corfe Mullen, Dorset. Supporting local charities & good.

The main event * CARNIVAL DAY * – FREE ENTRY is on SATURDAY 10TH. Just to confirm, that’s FREE ENTRY. That’s right, NO CHARGE to attend our event at The Platinum Jubilee Fields (the recreation ground) on Carnival Day.

Carnival procession of floats and walking tableaux from Ivor Road, Corfe Mullen to the Recreation Ground takes place between 1pm to 2pm on Saturday 10th June.

WHAT’S HAPPENING AT THE PLATINUM JUBILEE FIELDS?
As well as all the stalls and fairground rides, we have so much organised to keep you busy and entertained. Xtreme Falconry will be on display with their birds of prey, Hillside Veterinary Centre have the popular Dog Show organised, with 10 different categories – so do bring your four legged friend along (but kept on a lead please). We also have the Hope Farm Alpacas, model helicopters, Jonathan the Jester and the Circus Skills, Mr Merlin with Okey Dokey Dragon, scaled model railway rides, face painting, a Dutch musical barrel organ, hedgehog rescue, rabbit rescue, vintage vehicles, classic cars, crazy golf, Dorset police and lots more.

WHAT ABOUT FOOD & DRINK?
Don’t worry, we have plenty of options for you to choose from. Our Food Village has a selection of food traders for you to buy lunch and snacks from. We have burger vans, chicken & duck wraps, a hog roast & bbq, sweet stalls and donuts. We have hot drink outlets, PLUS you can buy a pint or two at The Gartell Arms – our Carnival Bar, named in honour of our founder, the late Kathleen Gartell – and yes, it will be serving beer this year (we checked, they definitely have the licence this time 🍻). Our Food Village will be located near our Performance Stage, so take a seat on a hay bale, enjoy the music and fill your tummies.

The Carnival Tea Tent will have a massive selection of cakes, for you to enjoy with a cup of tea or coffee. Thank you to Waitrose Wimborne for donating ingredients for many of the cakes and to the volunteer bakers for creating these delicious treats.

Our Grand Draw Gazebo will have tickets for sale and the draw will take place towards the end of the afternoon. We have a GREAT SELECTION OF PRIZES up for grabs, many donated by local businesses. Proceeds go to our charities.

WHAT’S ON THE PERFORMANCE STAGE?
We have our headline act, Alternative Versions, covering Rock & Pop, as well as local talent from Lockyer’s Middle School Samba Band, CHUGS Ukulele players, Vocal Ladies Choir and Legacy Academy of Dance & Performing Arts. This entertainment is all lined up for an afternoon of musical delight.
