Portland Harbour Guided Trip
Join us for our unforgettable Sea Kayak guided journey in Portland Harbour, near Weymouth of Dorset, offered to first timers to experienced, who wish to be led on an inspiring guided trip following an established route of the harbour that takes in the best sights.
Who can join a trip?
Our harbour journeys are friendly and accessible trips, that are aimed at anyone who can paddle a sea kayak. You don’t need to have kayaked before, but it obviously helps. Children under 12 tend to manage less well with paddling a full size kayak.
What you may see on a guided trip?
See historic sites and learn about the history of the area. See wild life not viewable elsewhere, and let your guide get you as close as possible for the perfect photo opportunity. There’s a real prospect of spotting a seal, and if you’re lucky, the resident Portland Harbour dolphin!
Stop for a coffee shop break if you like, and take in the activity of Portland’s glorious enormous harbour, with all its various water-sports users. Or dart up the renown Chesil Fleet – a unique lagoon that is tranquil and teeming with wildlife. Making lifelong memories.
Guided Trips are primarily in Portland Harbour, Weymouth, or the immediate area. Other areas along the Dorset Jurassic coast can be arranged. The later are first and foremost in open water, ocean environments, although inland / river guided tours can be arranged on request.
Equipment all provided; just bring some dry clothes!
Allow 3.5 hrs including setup/pack down for the half day, or 6 hrs for the full day. All prices per person.
Group sizes
We intentionally run small groups sizes usually from one paddler to four. Not only does this mean we can keep our prices to you low, but we can run tailored guided trips where each paddler gets the maximum support and attention. It also means there is less chance of a group having vastly different abilities, avoiding the necessity to balance challenge levels.
