Worgret Camp, WW1 and after – talk by Neil Child

As part of Wareham Town Museum’s 50th anniversary celebrations Neil Child will be hosting a talk about Worgret Camp.

Following the outbreak of war in 1914, Dorset’s biggest army camp was built on the edge of Wareham, where troops from all over the UK and beyond were trained before being sent to the front. In this talk Neill Child will give an account of the camp and the human stories he has uncovered.

Neill has lived in the Wareham area for 55 years and is a museum volunteer.

The talk will be held in the town hall, admission is free but donations to Wareham Town Museum are always welcome. See less
