Jane Austen and the Sea by Lizzie Dunford
Join Jane Austen’s House Director Lizzie Dunford for this illustrated talk exploring the connections of Britain’s greatest writer with the coast that surrounds our islands. From her admiral brothers to adventures at Lyme Regis, both on and off the page, we will discover Austen’s love of the sea, and its significance to her writing.
One complimentary drink (white wine or sparkling elderflower) is included in the ticket price.
Lizzie Dunford has been Director of Jane Austen’s House for five years. A trained conservator, she has spent her career caring for house museums and communicating the lives, both real and fictional that shaped their legacy. She regularly researches, writes and presents on Austen, museum practice, and writers houses, and is looking forward to a busy 2025.
