Dinosaur Footprints Walk
As part of Purbeck Goes Wild come and join Alex from the National Trust for this FREE walk to discover our very own dinosaur footprints!
Join Alex to walk in the footsteps of dinosaurs that roamed what was the shallow lagoons of Purbeck 140 million years ago!
Discovered in Keates quarry in 1997, the footprints of probable Branchiopods are now exposed in the layers of rock, in a field just off the public right of way, for everyone to explore.
Walking: approx. 2.5 miles in total (1.2 miles from Spyway – footprints, then back again).
This event is FREE but spaces are limited – please book via the eventbrite link (see link below).
FREE parking at Spyway car park for those not already National Trust members.
Wear suitable clothing for the British weather & sturdy footwear suitable for exploring – a bit of mud may be involved!
Bring a measuring tape to measure the size of the dinosaur footprints!
All ages welcome – All under 16s must be accompanied by at least one responsible adult
If there are yellow (or more severe) weather warnings for wind or rain in place, expect this event to be cancelled
