inDORSET is not just another online listing website,
it is so much more than that!
inDORSET is about COMMUNITY!
Following a small scale trial in Ferndown, it became clear how vibrant and energised our communities are under the surface.
The problem is that there is usually no clear and easy way for community groups and organisations to get their word out – inDORSET looks to provide those tools.
inDORSET provides two main roles:
1. In our directory, community groups, organisations, public bodies and businesses* can easily create a web listing.
As time goes on, they can log back into their listing and update it with the latest information.
2. Community groups, organisations, public bodies and businesses* are encouraged to send us their latest news, this will be added to our main front news website.
This news can be viewed as ALL DORSET NEWS, or it can be filtered down to your own LOCAL NEWS, or your GROUP or ORGANISATION NEWS.
The news feed can be linked from your directory listing or from any other website.
Unlike other NEWS WEBSITES, we are not news gatherers, we can be compared more to the COMMUNITY NOTICE BOARD!
inDORSET is NOT a national internet service, it has been created by Jason Lawford, a Dorset born person based in Ferndown.
