Lighthouse Launches New Team Pics Film Programme

Lighthouse Poole launches Team Pics with Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. One-night-only big screen classic chosen by the team. Book now

Lighthouse is set to launch Team Pics this autumn, a new monthly programme showcasing films that hold a special place in the hearts of its team members. Each screening will offer audiences the chance to enjoy exceptional titles rarely seen in cinemas, personally selected by a different member of staff.

Ferris bueller’s day off 2

The series begins on Wednesday 24 September at 7.45pm with a rare big-screen showing of the 1980s classic Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (15). Written and directed by John Hughes, this much-loved coming-of-age comedy is a joyful celebration of seizing the day. Matthew Broderick takes the lead as Ferris, a confident and quick-witted high school student who decides to skip class for a whirlwind adventure across Chicago with his best friend and girlfriend.

The cast also includes Alan Ruck, Mia Sara, Jennifer Grey, Charlie Sheen and Jeffrey Jones.

This opening screening has been selected by Lighthouse Development Co-ordinator George Rogers, who describes the film as “life-affirming and a constant reminder that stopping to enjoy and appreciate life is a necessity.” Each Team Pics event will be introduced by the team member who made the selection, offering audiences an insight into why the film resonates with them.

All Team Pics screenings will be one-off events, giving film lovers a unique opportunity to experience these memorable titles as they were intended — on the big screen.
