Nightjar Walk at Studland
As part of Purbeck Goes Wild come and join this FREE walk to find these strange and interesting African birds at nigh time!
Join Tom from the National Trust to explore the dunes at sunset to find the rare, nocturnal birds that migrate from Africa each spring to nest and have their babies before flying back to Africa in August.
Once the sun sets, the dunes come alive with activity – you’ll hear the distinctive churring sounds from all around of the birds and you might even get to see one flying around.
This will be a late event as nightjars won’t start churring and coming out of their nests until sunset… there may be bats and glow worms too.
Walking: approx. 2-3 miles in total
This Event is FREE, with FREE parking at Knoll beach car park (for those not already National Trust members), but spaces are limited – please book via the eventbrite link (see below).
