Mushroom Foraging Walk with Nick Phillips 2025
Nick Phillips, Founder of Grown Up Mushrooms, will take you exploring the woods and fields of Symondsbury Estate for a 2.5 – 3 hour walk where he will chat, pick and tell you all you need to know about fungi. He will show you how to safely and responsibly identify, and forage for, mushrooms and the incredible role that fungus plays on the planet. Along the way, learn about the folklore and history of the rich diversity of plants on the estate, connect with nature, and enjoy a fresh cup of mushroom tea, brewed in front of you in the great outdoors.
This event is not about stripping the forest, but about gaining a wealth of knowledge, lungfuls of fresh air and having a great time. All participants will go home with some mushrooms and mushroom goodies.

Time: 10:30am – 2pm
Location: Meet in the Visitor Centre
Please Note: This event will be run outdoors so please bring appropriate clothing for wet or cold weather, sturdy footwear and we would recommend wearing long trousers to protect yourself from bites and ticks.
