Local legend Ken Watkins, live at the Owermoigne hall DT2 8XD, Saturday 30th November.

Well known for his inimitable mix of skilful playing, beautiful vocals, and gentle humour, Ken has been delighting audiences across the south-west for many years. He has played with many other musicians and line-ups, but keeps things simple these days, performing as a duo with his daughter, Lucy. Playing guitar, banjo and ukulele, together with their seamless blend of voices, they deliver songs leaning into folk, country, jazz, and pop. Their eclectic repertoire features plenty of original material alongside well-known and not so well-known songs by others, making for dynamic shows with something for everyone.

Ken and Lucy will be supported on the night by The Outliers. This trio combines guitar and complex vocal harmonies to deliver original songs influenced by folk, rock, Americana, and who knows what else? Post-show feedback has mentioned Paul Simon, Led Zeppelin, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Del Amitiri and many others. With new material being showcased on the night alongside some old favourites, perhaps this list will continue to grow!

timings are approximate, this is Dorset after all… and you won’t be thrown out when the music is finished – we have the hall until 11pm and the bar will remain open…
