Hurn Court Opera presents La Cenerentola

In this lively take on the Cinderella story, Rossini combines irrepressible music, social comedy and poignant beauty.

Rossini’s Cenerentola – Angelina – gets no help from a fairy wand or glass slipper. Instead, her innate dignity and kindness prove her most powerful allies. While scheming shenanigans swirl around her, she maintains a quiet strength and belief in virtue that ultimately win the day.

Let a cast of emerging opera stars and the Hurn Court Opera orchestra take you through the masquerades, malice and buffoonery that punctuate Angelina’s change in fortune.

Orchestra directed by Lynton Atkinson. Directed by Joy Robinson. Sung in ltalian with English surtitles.

Hurn Court Opera brings professional opera and recitals to audiences in Dorset, Wiltshire and Hampshire, and stages an annual national Singer of the Year Competition. Providing performance opportunities for emerging young artists, it showcases some of the country’s finest new vocal talent. For more information, see www.hurncourtopera.org.
