An Ancient village of thatched, stone built houses, Abbotsbury is situated in a valley of outstanding natural beauty. Swans were first kept here 600 years ago to provide fresh food for the abbey and the famous swannery, on the strip of water behind Chesil Beach, now has the only managed nesting colony of mute swanas in Britain.
