Symondsbury Estate Plant Fair

Symondsbury Estate’s Plant Fair takes place on 8th May from 11am to 3pm, set against the stunning backdrop of Colmers Hill as the Estate’s famous wildflowers start to bloom. It is a fantastic opportunity to meet specialist growers from across the region, each bringing a great selection of plants, from hardy perennials, cacti and alpines to bulbs and rare and exotic varieties. Visitors will be able to purchase plants directly from these professional growers while also gaining invaluable insights on care, maintenance and garden design.

There is an exciting programme of talks and demonstrations in the 14th Century Tithe Barn, with world-renowned garden designer and plantsman, Charles Chesshire, doing talks on some of the UK’s best loved plants: Peonies, Clematis, and Roses. He will be sharing expert knowledge on plant varieties, their cultural requirements, including pruning and care, and how to incorporate them beautifully into garden designs.
In addition, floral designer, Tracy Fox, who trained under florist-to-the-stars, Jane Packer, will give live demonstrations, sharing tips on creating stunning floral arrangements at home.

· 2.00pm: The Magic of Roses – Charles Chesshire

Dorset Wildlife Trust is the event’s charity partner and will be present on the day. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about their conservation work and, if they wish, make a voluntary donation to support their efforts.

Delicious refreshments will be available throughout the event, making it the perfect day out for garden lovers. There is ample, free parking on the Estate.
