Corfe Castle to Kingston Loop Walk

Walk Summary

This is a lovely walk, but does have a steep up-hill section as you approach Kingston. The views on a clear day are magnificent — you can look down the valley towards Swanage and Poole Bay and beyond through the gap at Corfe Castle.

Description and Information

Starting at the West Street car park in Corfe Castle, following the road across West Common and up the hill to Kingston, past the “Cathedral of the Purbecks” (St James Church) and The Scott Arms pub — a perfect spot for lunch and to admire the view across Corfe Castle.

The return route is much easier, cross the road and then turning left just past the old church (now a house), following the footpath back down across the fields and up over East Common where you cross the main road (be careful when crossing) back on to West Common before you re-join the road back to West Street car park.

If you are not in a hurry, you can easily explore the village and castle of Corfe Castle.
