Purbeck Film Festival 2022
This year’s full festival runs from 14th to 29th October, with more than 80 films at over 30 venues across the Isle of Purbeck.
Each year the Festival makes a selection of the films that we think our audience will like, and gives around 80 performances during October in venues throughout the Isle of Purbeck and surrounding area. The main cinema is the Rex in Wareham, but films are shown at local village halls and unusual venues.
Each of the wide range of films is personally introduced with printed Film Notes, and where possible, filmmakers are invited to give talks about their films and answer questions from the audience. A printed brochure with full details of our October programme is usually available from September, and tickets are available at venues, and on this website.

About the Film Festival
Supported by the BFI and its South West Regional Hub the Purbeck Film Festival has, in its 24 years, continued to grow in terms of venues and audience numbers. Our primary aim is to provide a rich variety of cinematic experiences across a rural area which does not have easy access to foreign language, independent and classic films. Our festival provides a perfect opportunity to compare and contrast stories and styles across a wide range of films. Such a metropolitan approach to film screenings offers the chance to increase our knowledge and literacy of the cinema and can open our minds to new or different worlds.
