Nothe Fort Ghost Hunt Experience
Built between 1860-1872 to protect the Naval Harbour at Portland. The first soldiers to be garrisoned at Nothe Fort were No.2 Battery Royal Artillery (Tatton-Browns) a specialist gun emplacement unit. The Fort was later used as a nuclear shelter for civil administration during the Cold War period.
The fort has always had a legendary ghostly whistling gunner and many people claim to have heard his eerie whistling in the Fort’s extensive underground passageways. Other eye witness report that a white figure is seen walking the parapets of the building when it is locked and there should be nobody there!
