From Census to School: Did my Ancestor Really Attend School and Which One Was It?
Join us at Dorset History Centre for a helpful talk on genealogy and family history by experienced researcher, Val Brenton.
This talk will explain how the law regarding school attendance changed and what entries on the 19th-20th century census returns might mean. Suggestions will be given as to how to identify which school your ancestor may have attended and what records may still exist to help you add a variety of local and personal details to a family history.
Tickets are £8 for Dorset Archives Trust (DAT) members, £10 for non-members. Please book tickets online via ticketsource.
Tea and Coffee included.
