An evening with John Stockley
Details
As part of Black History Month, Weymouth local man John Stockley will be captivating his audience with his engaging and deeply personal story of growing up in Weymouth.
Born on the last day of the Second World War, the son of a black G.I and a local Weymouth woman, John will be talking about his childhood, growing up in the small seaside town. Focusing on the years 1945 – 1970 we’ll hear something of his father’s background as well as John’s childhood experiences, school and family life through to his early adulthood – life experiences inevitably affected by the attitudes around him.
There’ll be time for customers to ask John questions.
