Alice in Spring is a FREE, family friendly wonderland coming to the streets of Bournemouth Town Centre for the public to enjoy. For one weekend only on the 21st and 22nd of May. This fascinating themed event will transform the town into an immersive, interactive wonderland engaging to all ages!

Alice in Spring showcases live street theatre performances involving circus, stilt characters, painting and music performances! This event is accessible for all, using your smartphone can also help enhance your imagination upon your travels by catching Alice themed cues in multiple venue and shop windows, to follow the interactive trail. Come along, join the fun. Don’t be late, prizes are to be won!

Saturday Locations

• Lansdowne The Old Fire Station: Victorian tea party stilt performers and roaming actors.
• Horseshoe Common – Circus workshops run by Circus Wessex – a chance to watch and try a range of circus skills and performances. Including a Full Aerial Activity Rig, Silks, Trapeze, Hoop, Rope, Swivel. Hula Hoops, Diabolo, Pedal Go, Unicycles, Circus Bikes, Poi, Spinning Plates. Note: These workshops will be suitable for all ages, with something for everyone. Three public toilets located nearby.
• Beale Place – Acoustic music performances and 4 circus performers (aerial performance, juggles, and hula hoops). Roaming actors.
• BH2 Leisure Centre – Roaming theatre actors and street theatre.
• The Triangle – Uni cycle come and try.
• Throughout the town centre – Interactive trail.
• For Sunday’s programme choose Alice in Spring on Sunday

Sunday Locations:

• Horseshoe Common:
  • Ecolution Sustainable and eco friendly market with stalls selling a range of homemade crafts.
  • Kids face paintings, in the theme of endangered species (animals).
  • Circus workshops including hula hoops, flower sticks, poi spinning, staff spinning, diabolo, juggling, plate spinning and hat tricks.
  • Note: The workshops are suitable for all ages, with something for everyone. Public toilets located nearby.
• BH2 Leisure Centre:
  • Roaming theatre actors, children’s entertainer, children’s activity stations, face painter – check programme for specific timings.
• The Triangle:
  • Acoustic music performances. This will include an aerial rig, unicycles, poi, hula hoops, pedal gos, diabolos and a lot of things for people to play and be active with, photo wall, arts and crafts stations, drag queen of the arts act.
• Throughout the town centre – Interactive trail.
