Maritime Mix- London2012 Cultural Olympiad by the Sea

Animating Weymouth, Portland and the Jurassic Coast this unique creative celebration will create a once in a lifetime experience. It will celebrate the area’s status as the 2^nd largest Olympic venue after the capital as the host to the London 2012 Olympic & Paralympic sailing events. Maritime Mix – London 2012 Cultural Olympiad by the Sea will complete this historic moment with its ambitious programme of over 80 inspirational events across six months (9^th March – 9^th September 2012).

The extensive programme of events and creative talent featured in Maritime Mix – London 2012 Cultural Olympiad by the Sea has been made possible by investment and support from Arts Council England, Legacy Trust UK and local authorities including; Dorset County Council, Weymouth & Portland Borough Council and local tourism partnerships.

This investment and support will not only bring the arts to new audiences and inspire more people to get involved, but it will put local artists on an international stage and generate new partnerships and collaborations, leaving a valuable legacy for the whole cultural sector.

Arts Council investment in the Cultural Olympiad will bring in millions of pounds of public, private and commercial funding, giving the economy a considerable boost and demonstrating the wonderful impact the arts can make locally and at a national level.
